Fridge & Freezer Monitoring
Many sites and businesses rely on the use and workings of fridges and freezers. From supermarkets and restaurants to warehouses and hospitals, many sites need working fridges and freezers to operate their businesses. However, what happens during a powercut in the middle of the night, if an electrical fault occurs or an increase in temperature?
Without adequate fridge & freezer monitoring, sites will not know about such issues until they discover the impacts on their business. From thawed-out food to unusable medicines, fridges and freezers going offline or not working properly can cause disastrous effects and mass product wastage, which of course all have a financial impact.
RMS provides 24/7 fridge & freezer monitoring across numerous industries, providing peace of mind that a site will be instantly notified if their fridges or freezers change in temperature or stop working. This enables site personnel to quickly respond to the issue and prevents major disruption within the business.

How Does Fridge & Freezer Monitoring Work?
A site’s fridge and freezer systems will be connected to RMS’ ARC via a cellular network. Sensors will identify detected issues such as an appliance being offline or not working efficiently. Temperature sensors could also be used within the appliance to monitor any potential temperature changes. When a sensor picks up an issue, the following steps take place:
- A signal is sent to our monitoring control centre, which then notifies the monitoring operative team. They are highly skilled and will quickly look into and identify the issue.
- If the issue can be solved remotely, the monitoring operatives will carry this out.
- The nominated key holder for the site will be contacted to inform them of the event that took place and the current status of the issue.
- If set up with the site, our monitoring operatives can liaise with the site’s fridge & freezer maintenance team to fix the issue on-site.
How Much Does Fridge & Freezer Monitoring Cost?
Our fridge & freezer monitoring service is bespoke and tailored to each site. Cost is therefore dependent on various factors such as the number of appliances needing to be monitored.
For the most accurate cost, it is recommended to speak directly with the RMS team, who can provide a free quote after discussing your needs.
